Art pop sensation Petite Noir deserves to be bigger. He deserves to have his work, a mixture of music and strikingly rendered accompanying videos seen by as many people as possible. Once again with just a couple of little blips with over diversity he’s produced a record based very much on his homeland of South Africa that is modern and fresh but also retrospect. This linking of the now with a sense of timelessness isn’t new but Petite Noir does it with a colourful panache that marks him out as someone truly unique. Le Maison Noir is very nearly a masterpiece.
