Jorja Smith – Rose Rouge
Taken from the album “Blue Note Re:imagined” which is a brand new collection of classic Blue Note tracks, reworked and newly recorded by a selection of the UK scene’s most exciting young talents today. The track, which originally appeared on St Germain’s 2000 Blue Note album Tourist, was itself based on a sample of Marlena Shaw’s “Woman of the Ghetto” from her 1973 album “Cookin’ With Blue Note At Montreux”.
Leon Bridges – Sweeter ft. Terrace Martin
Originally recorded for an upcoming album, the pair decided to release this new track on its own ahead of schedule. “I cannot and will not be silent any longer,” Bridges said in a statement, “Just as Abel’s blood was crying out to God, George Floyd is crying out to me.”
박혜진 Park Hye Jin – ‘How can I’
Seoul-born, Los Angeles–based rapper, singer, DJ, and producer 박혜진 Park Hye Jin has released her new track ‘How Can I’ from her upcoming EP. Park’s upcoming EP was completed over the course of 2019 — a year she spent mostly traveling across Europe, North America and Australia for the first time.
Chloe x Halle – Forgive Me
“Forgive Me” is the second track of the duos upcoming album, “Ungodly Hour”. It is led into by the albums signature message, “Don’t ever ask for permission, Ask for forgiveness.” The song drives the message of being completely unapologetic in who you are and feeling self-empowered, regardless of who accepts or rejects it.
Tiggs Da Author – We Ain’t Scared
In an interview Tiggs Da Author said about his new track, “We Aint Scared” that: “This song is literally me explaining me moving from Tanzania, then growing up in south London with no father figure. You have to learn from your mistakes and teach yourself how to be a man.”
Tiggs also said:“I like the idea of a beat doing one thing and you’re saying the complete opposite. For me, what’s important is making songs with a message that gets through, whether immediately or eventually.
