Lucifer is coming back with season five in August and he has shared his first look from the upcoming “noir” segment. Puza Snigdha reports.
Focusing on Lucifer’s time in Los Angeles in the 1940s, the upcoming series has been entitled as ‘It Never Ends Well for the Chicken’.
The fifth season of Lucifer will tell the story when Lucifer visited Los Angeles in the 1940s as he recounts the story and places the show’s other characters into different roles in his re-telling.
“Whenever you play [with] flashbacks, the question is always, ‘What’s the time frame that can reflect a person?’ What’s nice about noir is it’s detective stories, but Lucifer isn’t a detective yet. So what we’re almost seeing, to a certain extent, is Lucifer’s first case,” said Joe Henderson, co-showrunner.
The noir-inspired special episode will be shot in black and white set in an alternative universe in the 1940s, featuring Lucifer Morningstar dusting off his pipes and singing alongside his confidante from Hell, Mazikeen aka Maze, ET exclusively reveals.
“There is a case, there is a mystery to solve, but it’s just more filtering our [show’s] language through noir.”
The official description for season five states: “Lucifer (Ellis), bored and unhappy as the Lord of Hell, resigns his throne and abandons his kingdom for the gorgeous, shimmering insanity of Los Angeles, where he gets his kicks helping the LAPD…and the savvy detective Chloe Decker (Lauren German) in particular,”
Lucifer season five, originally on Fox, will air in two parts for the streaming service with the first arriving this August, Friday 21st.
