The 27-year-old pop star Ed Sheeran has been named the highest-earning solo artist on Forbes new Highest-Paid Celebrities rich list after raking in £83million in the last year alone.
According to the newly-published Forbes Celebrity 100 list, which ranks the world’s highest-paid celebrities from June 2017 until June 2017, Sheeran is the ninth biggest earner and came after bands Coldplay and U2.
The ‘Shape of You’ star who last year released his number one album Divide and embarked on his world tour, earned 110 million US dollars over space of 12 months, according to Forbes.
But it was still quite a jump for Ed, progressing 62 places since last year’s figures where his fellow solo artist Katy, 33, amassed an extra £62million, while Taylor, 28, increased her fortune by £60million.
The star, who has sold more than 26million albums worldwide, has launched a lawsuit to claw back the cash.
Hollywood star George Clooney is in second place, although his earnings are largely down to the sale of Casamigos, the tequila company he co-founded.
The Hello singer’s hero Beyoncé Knowles, came in six places after her with $60 million and UK superstar Adele, 30, placed at 29, with an earning of $69 million.
