Drake had some things to get off his chest after Pusha T released a track titled “Infrared” on Friday that was seemingly aimed at the “God’s Plan” rapper. After releasing a response titled “Duppy Freestyle”, Drake took things a step further and sent the G.O.O.D music label a $100,000 invoice for “promotional assistance and career-reviving.”
“Don’t push me when I’m in album mode, you’re not even top five as far as your label talent goes,” the Canadian raps on the track, before going on to diss label boss Kanye West.
“Tell ’Ye we got an invoice comin’ to you/ Considering we just sold another 20 for you.”
While the exchange could raise accusations of being nothing more than a clever publicity stunt, the feud is sure to be a self-fulfilling prophecy as Pusha T’s album continues to garner much fanfare and move even more units. The beef also serves the double purpose of keeping Drake’s name in headlines as the release date for his upcoming album, Scorpion, quickly approaches.
