Diljit Dosanjh has been confirmed as the biggest selling Indian artist (to date) for a single concert at Arena Birmingham.
The successful singer is one of the principal artists in the Punjabi music industry and has made history after kicking off his Con.Fi.Dent.Tial UK tour at the established Midlands venue, Arena Birmingham.
He made an appearance at the location to perform in front of a sell-out audience of almost 9,000 fans. The event marked his return to Brum after a 2 year hiatus (Diljit has been busy working on his new album).
The gig, which was promoted by UK Ticket Office Ltd, also incorporated the biggest stage for an Asian artist to ever be constructed within the venue. The arena spanned 22 metres and allowed the artist to put on a great show to all of those in attendance.
Ben Sharman, Venue Sales Manager, commented: “This has been an impressive production, not only in design but also in sales figures. To be selling out shows like this highlights Diljit Dosanjh’s wide international reach and fan base in the West Midlands, and it’s been a pleasure to open his UK tour.
“Our world class facilities and central location in the heart of the UK makes us a core destination on the touring circuit. This teamed with the young and culturally diverse population we have in the West Midlands has been a real recipe for success.”
The success of The Con.Fi.Den.Tial tour will continue as it takes its onward journey, stopping at hotspots in London and Leeds.
