The Indian Netflix movie ‘Bulbul’ is directed and written by Anvita Dutt, is a supernatural drama film which shows a powerfully feminist, revisionist tale of a woman. The film is the mix of classic pre-Renaissance Bengal and desi horror gothic making for gripping viewing. The film starts with a child marriage, as a young Bulbbul who used to love climbing trees and plucking raw mangoes, such blissful child but apprentlygets married with a much older man than her. She soon finds a friend in her in-law house, Saty the younger brother of Bulbul’s husband and passting time with him eventually she falls in love with Satya. With lots of plotting and drama she grows up to be an enigmatic woman presiding over her household, harboring a painful past as supernatural murders of men plague her village.
