Good news for the movie lovers! 450 classic movies will be re-released as UK cinemas prepare to re-open in July after being closed due to the coronavirus pandemic. Puza Snigdha reports.
‘Relaunching Cinema: Content for Recovery’ has pulled together a library of 450 new and classic films that avid cinema-goers can choose from when they reopen after the coronavirus lockdown.
The new list has been compiled by the “Film Distributors’ Association” and will consist of a huge selection from some of the biggest distribution companies in the UK. The list includes a selection of classics, indie favourites, family-friendly crowd-pleasers, musicals, and horror films, as well as comedies, docs, and Sci-Fis!
Here are some of the films which will be available:
- Christopher Nolan’s Batman movies
- The Harry Potter series
- The Empire Strikes Back
- Hot Fuzz
- The Matrix
- God’s Own Country
- His Girl Friday
- It Happened One Night
- When Harry Met Sally
- Some Like It Hot
- Battle Royale
- Oldboy
Cineworld have confirmed that all their UK and global cinemas will reopen between late June and mid-July.
Cinemas in the Czech Republic and Slovakia will open first on June 26, and the US and UK branches will open in July.
